The Correlation Between Body Mass Index (BMI) and Hemodialysis Adequacy in Hemodialysis Patients

چکیده
Hemodialysis is the most common renal replacement therapy in patients with chronic kidney disease and has a dose that must be achieved, known as hemodialysis adequacy. In fact, many do not reach adequacy target. There are three main factors affecting adequacy: solute, patient, dialysis process. Patient important because these can modified, intervened, anticipated by nurses. One of interesting patient to study Body Mass Index (BMI). The purpose this was determine relationship between BMI This research conducted November 2021. used cross-sectional design consecutive sampling technique comprised 84 samples met inclusion exclusion criteria. data were collected using recording from medical records patients. post-hemodialysis weight parameters assessed looking at Kt/V score. results showed there significant (p=0.001) moderate strength negative pattern (r=-0.362); means greater value, less indicated maintaining normal increase prevent complications, improve quality life, reduce treatment costs, frequency hospitalization.

Evaluating the Correlation between the Body Mass Index (BMI) and Dental Age in 6 to 13-Yyear-Old Children
Background and aim: Methods of age estimation with the aid of radiography have higher accuracy compared with other methods. Some investigations have been performed in this regard, but the correlation between dental development and Body Mass Index (BMI) has been limitedly researched. In the present study, the correlation between dental development and BMI in the children referring to the dental ...
متن کاملThe relationship between hemoglobin level with PTH level and dialysis adequacy in chronic hemodialysis patients
Background: The role of high levels of parathyroid hormone in the development of anemia either directly or by mediating mechanisms is unclear, and there is a controversy about the pathophysiological role of parathyroid hormone (PTH) in the development and intensification of anemia associated with renal disease. The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between anemia and parathy...
متن کامل[Relationship between body mass index and all-cause mortality in hemodialysis patients: a meta-analysis].
OBJECTIVE To explore the relationship between the different body mass index (BMI) ranges and all cause mortality in hemodialysis (HD) patients. METHODS Eligible studies assessing the effects of BMI ranges on all-cause mortality (published from 1966 to 2012) were searched, using "hemodialysis/haemodialysis" and "obese/body mass index/overweight" and "mortality/survival/reverse epidemiology/obe...
متن کاملThe Relationship between the Mother’s Pre-pregnancy Body Mass Index (BMI) and Infant’s Birth Weight
Introduction: Birth weight, as one of the main indices of growth, is among the determining factors of survival. Given the absence of documented studies and lack of information regarding the influence of mothers’ body mass index (BMI) on newborns’ birth weight, this study was carried out with the aim to determine the relation between the mother’s BMI at the beginning of pregnancy and the infant’...
متن کاملAdequacy of hemodialysis in Nepalese patients undergoing maintenance hemodialysis.
INTRODUCTION Inadequate dialysis accounts for the high mortality in patients with end stage renal disease (ESRD). In Nepal, due to various factors including financial and logistic limitations, hemodialysis is mostly performed twice-a-week. This study was undertaken to look at adequacy of dialysis in patients undergoing maintenance hemodialysis in Nepal where the patients profile, in terms of di...
